The reason I created, Georie's Cancer Walk.

My Why

In January 2020 I found out I had stage 2 Breast Cancer. After 2 surgeries it was discovered, it was Stage 3. WOW! Talk about panic attack mixed with shock all in one day! Thankfully after Chemo through Asante and Radiation through Providence, I have been cancer free for 3 years.
I had to fight! The Idea of breast cancer and having breast cancer was not going to be an acceptable outcome for me. So, the fight was on, but I could not have persevered without my family, friends, my Windermere family, Drs, Nurses and of course the good Lord above.
Providence and Asante both have great cancer programs. It occurred to me that I had not seen a local breast cancer walk. I thought it would be so awesome to raise money and have a fun time doing just that. Over the last 2 years we raised just over $4000.00. I am excited to see how much money we can raise this year!
